It’s easy to feel like if you’ve been to one professional conference, you’ve pretty much seen them all. The educational sessions, the social events, running into familiar faces, meeting new people, juggling work in between learning, and the exhaustion at the end of it all – these are all realities of spending a few days out of the office to learn new things and network with peers. And here at ReviveHealth, we think it’s absolutely worth it.
As we get ready for the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development’s annual conference (SHSMD Connections 2018) in Seattle, we wanted to share three reasons why we’re excited about one of the industry’s best and largest conferences for healthcare marketing, planning, business development, communications and physician relations professionals. Whether it’s your first time attending or you’ve been attending for years, this year’s conference has something for everyone. Keynotes That Hit A High Note
The keynote speakers at this year’s conference have diverse perspectives that span beyond healthcare – and that’s a great thing. Solving the challenges healthcare organizations face today requires new ways of thinking and a willingness to do things differently.

Our roles as healthcare strategists are increasingly evolving in a rapidly changing industry – and that’s not going to change anytime soon. While it’s important that we manage the day-to-day work of driving the success of our organizations, we also have to look ahead and anticipate the many opportunities we have to shape the future of healthcare delivery. This year’s workshops and concurrent sessions are focused on thinking ahead – from making data-driven decisions to authentically owning the experience as consumer experts.
One of the sessions we’re excited about takes place on Monday, October 8 at 9:10am. Matt Gove (Chief Consumer Officer, Piedmont Healthcare) and our very own Chris Bevolo will discuss why (and how) health systems marketers are best equipped to lead the experience function. SHSMD is known for hosting its annual conference in some of America’s coolest cities, and this year is no exception.
