Payor Negotiations in the Time of COVID-19
Today, health systems find themselves in an unfamiliar situation and they are facing an opportunity to reframe their approach to payor negotiations. The stakes in payor negotiations were high before – now they may be a matter of survival. While the future may be difficult to predict, providers must recognize the present cues to prepare for this new future.
In Spring 2020, ReviveHealth carefully examined industry research, publicly available data, and national news coverage. We also conducted interviews with industry leaders in hospital finance and payor relations. From the research and interviews, we identified six key insights shared across the healthcare provider landscape.
